Originating in the 1930s as the Sac à Dépêches, a structured trapezoidal bag derived from the house's equestrian saddlebags and designed by Robert Dumas. It became iconic after Grace Kelly was photographed carrying it on a 1956 Life cover to shield her pregnancy, having earlier used it in Hitchcock's 'To Catch a Thief'; Hermès officially renamed it the Kelly in 1977. Made in two constructions: Sellier (rigid, exterior stitching) and Retourne (softer, interior stitching).
